"Super-fit" 17 year-old dies in girlfriend's arms

Jack Thomas, an avid cricketer and rugby player himself, stopped breathing whilst watching the Wales vs. Scotland rugby match on TV last Sunday.
His girlfriend, Emily, was with him at the time and called Jack's parents to tell them what had happened. An ambulance arrived soon after and doctors spent two hours trying to treat Jack at hospital but they could not resuscitate him. The cause of death is not known but a post-mortem will be held this week.
Jack's father spoke for the family saying: "We need answers - how can our 15 year-old son be here one minute perfectly healthy and fit and then die just like that? He was full of life and energy and was rarely ill. He was a super-fit Taekwondo expert who trained six times a week. We as a family are in bits, words don't even come close to explaining how we feel."
Jack Thomas represented Wales at Taekwondo and was a keen all-round sportsman. He was predicted to get A-stars in his GCSEs this summer and had won a place at a sixth form college.
