Sainsbury's Kidderminster goes all out to help Hand on Heart

Sainsburys

A number of employees at Sainsbury’s in Kidderminster have been working hard to raise money for Hand on Heart, helping us to put defibrillators in schools. The fantastic ongoing support from Sainsbury’s is putting us on track to reach our goal of funding 2-10 defibrillator packages in schools each month.

On 6th August Jo Carthew, who was an Olympic torch bearer, visited the Kidderminster store with the torch and helped raise a massive £187 by allowing customers and colleagues to take photographs.  The online department held a cake sale in the staff canteen, raising £50 and on the Olympic opening ceremony day colleagues dressed in the colour of the Olympic rings contributing £1 each. This raised a further £50.

12 young people die every week as a direct result of sudden cardiac arrest and we have made it our mission to eradicate this figure. By providing schools with defibrillators and training, staff and children will learn how to save lives and respond quickly before the emergency services arrive.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Sainsbury’s Kidderminster who have organised the fundraising and taken part. It’s great to have such a committed team of fundraisers on our side. If you would like to get involved with fundraising or would like any further information then click here.
