My Story

This is our little girl Heidi Rose, she is 3 years old. When she was just 11 weeks old she was diagnosed with Long QT Syndrome. It's a rare heart condition that affects the electric current and rhythm of the heart, this can lead to sudden death. She's a happy bright little girl, but there are certain activities and medicines she needs to avoid. She's due to start pre school in April and to keep her safe we have been raising money for a Defibrillator and CPR training, which we have succeeded in doing for Gorseybrigg Primary School.
We really want to keep raising money to place more Defibrillator's and provide more CPR training for local school's this is why we have chosen to fundraise for Hand on Heart Charity. We also want to raise awareness of the conditions that are silent killers.

How I am fundraising

The money we have raised so far has come from a variety of activites, we held a raffle and coffee morning, a friend of ours ran a sponsored 10k, the school where my daughters go held a skipathon, we held a ladies spa night and my friend raised money by face painting flowers on everyone over the bank holiday at her pub!  We have also had some trolley tokens made and sell these whenever we can.

Dronfield rotary club have been very supportive and have just informed us that they are giving us a donation, we are awaiting details of this and will update as soon as we have more news.

Future activities:

My cousin is running 3  X 10k runs.

We are looking forward to our Family Fun Day on the 26th June 2016 at Dronfield-Woodhouse Sports and Social Club.  The event will run from 11.00am - 3.00pm and will be a fantastic day for everyone.  Come along and browse the variety of stalls before getting your glitter tattoos and face painted, then head off to the bouncy castle for some fun.  Later on you can partake of some food and beverages and enjoy the entertainment on offer.  Entry is £1.00 per person.  Come along and support our great cause.
