It is a shocking statistic that Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) kills over 2000 people a week in the UK alone. The death of anyone, regardless of age, leaves a void in the lives of his survivors.

However, the death of a child seemingly in the prime of life is very difficult to accept. The impact on family, school, friends and the entire community is not easily overcome. Most adults, especially those are parents, place a high value on protecting the lives of their children.

Medical experts believe many children could be saved if an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used within minutes of a collapse. However, there is currently no national system in place in the UK to ensure AEDs are present and in working order in schools.

There are many ways you can get involved and help us to make the UK a safer place for our children's hearts.

Fundraising - As a team, as an individual or by attending one of our events, every little bit goes a long way to helping us get as many defibrillator packages into schools across the UK. Click here to see some of our fundraising ideas and the events we will be holding over the next 12 months!

DonationsOur charity relies solely on donations and fundraising efforts to provide defibrillators and training to schools across the nation.  99% of all monies we receive go directly to funding defibrillator packages so anything you can donate is invaluable to keeping our children Heart Safe. To find out the different ways you can donate or to set up a monthly contribution, see our Ways to Donate page.

Volunteering - We are always looking for volunteers to assist at fundraising events, awareness days and with general duties associated with running a local charity - interested? Find out more here.

Merchandise - One of our biggest sources of fundraising comes from our Hand on Heart charity merchandise. We currently sell charity wristbands, t-shirts and have pin badges and keyrings ready for sale. You can get involved by either purchasing some of our goodies from us or from one of the stores that stock them in the community; or if you are a local business, support us by selling them on our behalf! See our Merchandise page to find out where to get yours.

We truly believe that charity begins at home and we understand how powerful individuals can be when they pull together to support their community. This is why we want to work with you to make your local schools Heart Safe and to raise awareness of the silent killer that is cardiac arrest.
